Takatsukasa Takako (鷹司隆子)

Takako TAKATSUKASA (June 13, 1787 - July 6, 1870) was a woman in the Edo Period.

She was a daughter of Kanpaku (chief adviser to the Emperor) Masahiro TAKATSUKASA, and her mother was Ie no Nyobo (a lady-in-waiting).
Her name was Akihime

Masamichi TAKATSUKASA was her younger brother, and her sisters were as follows: a wife of Emperor Ninko (Empress), Shinko (posthumous title that means a new emperor) Kamonin (Tsunako TAKATSUKASA); nyogo (a high-ranking lady in the court [a consort of an emperor]) Shinsakuheimonin; the lawful wife of Shogun Iesada TOKUGAWA, Ninshi TAKATSUKASA; a wife of Imperial Prince Kaninnomiya Tatsuhito, Princess Yoshiko TAKATSUKASA; a wife of Imperial Prince Fushiminomiya Kuniie, Princess Hiroko TAKATSUKASA.

In 1807, she married into the 12th lord of Kaga Domain, Narinaga MAEDA. She had a daughter named Nao (直), who later became Tadaakira OGASAWARA's fiancee, with Narinaga. After the death of her husband Narinaga, she named herself Shinryuin and lived in Kanazawa for the rest of her life.

Seisonkaku Villa, designated as an important cultural property, was built for Takako by the 13th lord of domain, Nariyasu MAEDA.
